Bellevue Ward – City of Boroondara
Bellevue Ward in the City of Boroondara, encompasses most of Kew East and Balwyn North. Named after Bellevue Street in the 1922 Camberwell City Heights subdivision. The estate was a strip of land extending from Doncaster Road to Koonung Creek, between Hill Road and Bulleen Road.
The northern-most of the 11 council wards in Boroondara, Bellevue Ward is home to the magnificent Hay’s Paddock in Kew East. Hay’s Paddock is a park, just under 14 hectares in area, with Glass Creek winding through the southern portion of the parkland. The park has a densely treed woodland character and a remnant billabong in the northwest corner. Hay’s Paddock also boasts a regional adventure playground designed so that all children, regardless of their physical or intellectual ability, can play on an equal basis.
The Greythorn Community Hub was opened by then Mayor of Boroondara, Cr Jim Parke, in July 2018 at the former RSL site at Trentwood Avenue and Centre Way, Balwyn North. The centre is home to Trentwood at the Hub, Boroondara’s newest neighbourhood house.
